Recycling

Do your bit for the environment by tapping into Pick n Pay's recycling initiatives.

By making recycling a way of life, that's where we've found GOODNESS.

21 May 13

Pick n Pay has become well known for its recycling bins placed prominently at the front of the store, where customers can drop their recycling when they do their shopping.

We also have a recycling centre where you can drop off used batteries, plastic containers, ink cartridges and CFL light bulbs. And as part of our online shopping service, we’ll now be collecting plastic bags, plastic containers and batteries for recycling from the homes and businesses of our online-shopping customers.

Not only do the recycling bins reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, the money raised through ink-cartridge recycling is donated to the Quadriplegic Association of South Africa.

FAST FACTS
  • If we all recycle paper, 750,000 cubic metres of landfill space would be saved a year.
  • In one year, the energy saved from paper recycling can provide electricity for 512 homes.
